31—33 Maddox Street, London W1
31—33 Maddox Street is a seven storey office block in the West End of London constructed behind a partly retained façade. The basement is constructed in reinforced concrete. The superstructure utilised a steel frame with composite metal deck slabs and cellular beams accommodating services.
Jampel Davison & Bell undertook the design of the intricate arrangement of temporary works required to support the retained five storey high ornamental façade of No.31, to support the basement and party walls and to maintain fire escape routes from the roof of the adjoining six storey building whilst minimising intrusion into the confined site.
The building is located above the Victoria Line which involved liaison, negotiations and tunnel inspections with London Underground.
