JJBS Woodland Cemetery

The new building at JJBS Woodland Cemetery features a spacious open hall that serves as both a reception and prayer space. Externally, it is clad in timber, with a series of ancillary outbuildings set among landscaped mounds, creating a natural connection to the woodland surroundings.

The outer ring of the structure is defined by multi-faceted, sloping roofs, supported by a slender steel frame that provides both stability and a light architectural expression. At its heart, the building opens into a central space with a flat roof, framed by exposed glulam beams that encircle a glazed dome, filling the interior with natural light and a sense of openness.
